Health situation of human rights defenders jailed in Moroccan Salé prison continues to deteriorate:
Salé (Morocco), April 5, 2010 - The health situation of the Sahrawi human rights defenders jailed in Salé prison continues to deteriorate, as they entered their 18th day of hunger strike demanding their legitimate rights as prisoners of conscience, specifically setting a date for their trial or their unconditional release.
They suffer many illnesses, loss of consciousness, fatigue, headaches, and loss of mobility which has tied them to their beds/cells in precarious conditions since last Friday. The following complications in their health situation have been noted:
Ali Salem Tamek: suffering difficulty of breathing, acute asthma, decreasing blood pressure of 8/11.
Brahim Dahane: suffering severe stomach aches, decreasing blood pressure of 8/11.
Ahmed Nasiri: suffering cardiac pain, decreasing blood pressure of 7/10.
Yahdih Ettarrouzi: suffering both cardiac and intestinal pain, and decreasing blood pressure of 7/11.
Rachid Sghayar: suffering painful joints and low blood pressure of 7/11.
