Denmark supports self-determination of Sahrawi people:

Copenhagen, May 7, 2010: Denmark supports the self-determination of the Sahrawi people, reaffirmed Thursday Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Lene Espersen, according to a statement of the Polisario Front Representation in Denmark.

In an answer to questions presented by MP. Jeppe Kofod, the Foreign Policy spokesman of the Social Democrat Party in the Parliament, the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Lene Espersen stated that "Denmark supports the UN efforts to find a mutually acceptable solution based on the principle of self-determination for the Sahrawi people."

The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs said also that Denmark supports the UN work to foster confidence and resume negotiations between Morocco and Polisario front.

Concerning the situation of human rights in Western Sahara, the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that the human rights situation is standing up in the bilateral talks with Morocco and was among the issues that were raised on the EU summit with Morocco.
