Appeal to international organizations to assume their obligations towards the Saharawi people (Final Declaration):

Algiers,May23 ,2010: Participants at the International Conference of Solidarity with the Saharawi youth and students have called on Saturday in Algiers, international organizations to assume "full" commitments and obligations towards the Saharawi people and put pressure on Morocco to respect the principles of the UN Charter.

In a final declaration on, the last colony in Africa (Western Sahara) , participants at the conference called on the UN, African Union and the European Union, "to assume fully their commitments and obligations towards the Saharawi people and to put pressure on Morocco to respect the principles of the Charter of the United Nations concerning decolonization through organizing a free and fair referendum on self-determination , as recommended in the first settlement plan of the UN / OAU in 1991 and all UN resolutions.

Participants who have adopted this declaration also called on the Security Council of the UN to take "in the account the dangerous situation of human rights in Western Sahara and to extend the mandate of the MINURSO to include monitoring and protecting human rights,"

The final declaration also urges the EU to "stop sabotaging the UN process, and to end the activities of its companies in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and to put pressure on Morocco, to release "immediately and unconditionally" all Saharawi political prisoners.

The statement demanded to stop "immediately to intimidation and harassment carried out by the Moroccan authorities against civilians and Saharawi activists of human rights".

The document insists on the dismantling of the separation wall built by Morocco and the signing by youth organizations and student of the Ottawa convention which banning the use and production of antipersonnel mines.

The declaration also points out, "growing" violations of human rights in the occupied territories, "which widely denounced by international organizations for human rights",

It denounced also the continued Illegal Morocco occupation of Western Sahara from, "with the support of Spain and France.

The Final Declaration stressed "the responsibility of France in blocking a political settlement that respects international law and any inclusion of blocking the protection of human rights in the mandate of MINURSO".
