The moroccan authorities renewed the alliance with the human rights violations in Western Sahara:


Subject: Brutal intervention against Saharawi activists.

Date: 09 - March - 2010. 

 

The moroccan authorities deployed hundreds of policemen in the city of El Aaiun, Western Sahara, in parallel with the return of eleven human rights activists to visit saharawi liberated territories and the saharawi refugee camps in Tindouf / South Argelia. Arrival at the El Aaiun airport, a crowd of activists families and of saharawi citizens celebrated their return at a time when the moroccan authorities had prevented many human rights activists and saharawi citizens access the room from the reception at the occupied city airport after returning from refugee camps.

 

Dozens of police were deployed along the road between the airport and the home of human rights activist Mr. Ibrahim Ismail, where was prepared a great reception in which slogans were expressed to allow the saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination, before this delegation could enter the family home of human rights activist Mr. Ahmed Sbai, where they found dozens of saharawi citizens waiting to congratulate them in their successful visit to the saharawi refugee camps. This meeting was attended by more saharawi collective's: representatives of the youth uprising for independence (Intifada), representatives of women's groups and other saharawi activists expressed the importance of the visit, particularly when the occupation authorities are in a very criticized international situation. At the house of saharawi human rights activist Mr. Sid Ahmed Mjayed, where tens of saharawi citizens were continued discussions about the importance of civil resistance and their important role in achieving political goals.

 

Immediately after the meeting, the activists visited the headquarter of the so-called Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT), where was expressed their solidarity with the mothers of the 15 saharawi political kidnapped by the moroccan state, human rights activist Mr. Naama Asfari expressed his and the solidarity from the saharawi refugees in the camps and from the occupied territories, with mothers and all the saharawi kidnapped, emphasizing the involvement of the National Authority and all efforts it realize denouncing in all forums and international organizations. Following a summary of the visit organized by human rights activists, highlighting the evolution, or saharawi miracle; defying invasion and the harsh conditions of nature, were especially impressed by the development of national institutions and the people's unity, and the willingness and preparedness of the Saharawi People's Liberation Army.

 

The brutal police action today 09/March/2010 conducted by the moroccan security services against dozens of peaceful protesters demanding the release of saharawis, saharawi people's right to self determination, and in which there have been several casualties, especially among saharawi human rights activists, this is the preliminary list of victims:

 

  •   Mr. Asfari Namma (Human Rights Activist): Head Injuries.
  •   Mr. Brahim Sabbar (Human Rights Activist): Head Injuries.
  •   Ms. Dagna Moussaoui (Saharawi citizen): Lesions in the mouth.
  •   Ms. Mariam Mrayzlate (Saharawi citizen): Injuries to the eyes and mouth.
  •   Miss Izana Amidane (Human Rights Activist): Injuries to the back.

 

Like other sahrawi citizens still do not know their fate and Ms. Maina Haddi, Mr  Ahmed Hamiya and Ms Dahbi Ayachi, and others who are unaware of the extent of his injuries. We also note the police raid several houses of saharawi citizens and the brutality of the moroccan forces continues until the time of writing this note.

 

The Committee for defense of self-determination of the people of Western Sahara has news related to the retention of human rights activist Mr. Mohamed Tahlil at the point of inspection and control at the entrance to the city of Bojador, Western Sahara, his fate is uncertain.
